typingrace.app is one free game: a typing race against four bots. It has no login, no account and no server for your data.
What this site is
The site hosts a single game. You race four bots on the same text. You can pick a bot speed and a race time. At the end you get your WPM, accuracy, errors and place.
The site exists for quick practice. A race takes 30 seconds or more, and every run starts with one click.
What this site is not
- There are no typing lessons. The site has one game, not a course.
- There are no accounts. The site never asks for an email address.
- There are no real-time multiplayer rooms. You race bots in your browser.
- There are no ads today. If ads arrive, this page and the privacy policy will say so first.
How the site works
The site is a set of static files. HTML, CSS and JavaScript run in your browser. No PHP, database or login server is involved.
The bots run in JavaScript on your device. Each bot has a base speed and small changes in pace. The game stores your best WPM and your last 20 races in your browser only.
The site uses Plausible analytics for page counts. Plausible does not use cookies. Read the privacy policy for the full list.
Why the bots exist
Real opponents need a server and a login. Bots need neither. Bots also give every visitor a race at any hour.
Three levels cover the common speed range: Easy near 25 WPM, Medium near 40 WPM and Hard near 60 WPM. The how to play page explains the levels.
Who runs the site
typingrace.app is an independent project. A small team builds and runs the site. The team also runs other free browser tools.
